The 2012 Lincoln MKZ featured the classic interior and exterior styling that it has been known for since its release in 2007, including the striking grill design and the wood-grain interior.  The 2013 model is sportier, and it looks more like it is keeping up with or ahead of the other cars in its market segment.  For people who want the modern look that pervades the market, but prefer a Ford motor, this is a great thing.  For people who appreciated the unmistakably classic look of the old model, a trip to the local car dealer to get the last of the 2012 models is in order.

The new grill is split, taking its styling from the Lincoln Zephyrs of the late-1930s, according to Edmunds.com.  The body is more rounded and has almost muscle-car styling at the tail, as well as a distinctive, futuristic row of tiny lights.  Its headlamps are sharply angular.  Another interesting new feature is the glass roof.  In the interior, the wood grain that was so pervasive in earlier models is all-but-gone, replaced by more modern touches.  Its unique mix of influences and decades makes it a standout, but the fact that it is not the same car as it was in 2012 is unmistakable.
